Lake Biwa is the biggest lake in Japan and the inspiration for this shawl. The pattern reminds us of the waves that roll in from the lake. The easily-remembered pattern is well-suited for first time lace knitters. The unusually imprinted cotton yarn ITO Zome Gima evokes the maritime theme of the shawl.
