Diamond Cove Knitting Escape

2 - 7 August 2026

This event is now fully booked. Let us know if you would like to be on our mailing list for retreats in 2027.

Escape with us to the Inn at Diamond Cove, a tranquil island retreat nestled along the pristine shores of Great Diamond Island in Maine's sparkling Casco Bay. Take a short ferry ride from vibrant downtown Portland to be transported to a timeless place unlike any other, enhanced by the island's natural beauty and historic character.

Our escape includes a creative knitting workshop presented in two sessions. It has been designed to be as light or as challenging as you want to make it. Only basic skills are needed. Workshop yarns will be provided.

Our escape includes many meals and plenty of free time for socializing, relaxing by the pool and spa tub and simply enjoying quiet island moments. Beachcombing is an easy morning walk away and for the more adventurous there are bicycles, kayaks and paddleboards available for your use.

No trip to Maine is complete without a lobster roll and we have included a day trip to Portland with a lunch visit to DiMillo's, an iconic establishment where yu can savor this Maine delicacy. Both the Casco Bay ferry terminal and DiMillo's are located in the midst of the Old Port.

For those interested in history, the Old Port district is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, adding to its appeal as a destination for history buffs and tourists alike.

Depending on how much time you would like to spend in the Old Port, you will want to take the 9:40 AM or 11:40 AM ferry to join us for lunch at DiMillo's at 1:00 PM. There are several ferry departures back to Diamond Cove, depending on how much time you would like to spend in the Old Port. Just remember, the last ferry departs Portland at 9:00 PM.
